A letter from Maud Gonne MacBride to Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap. expressing her happiness to be associated with the presentation to Captain Robert Monteith. She also refers to her efforts to secure pensions for the surviving members of Casement’s brigade and for the Connaught mutineers. A copy of a reply to MacBride from Thomas F. O’Higgins, Minster of Defence, is included which refers to the provisions of the Military Service Pensions Act. MacBride also states that it was Casement’s last wish to be buried in Ireland ‘is still unfilled’.
