Senan of Joseph O’Connor reads ‘I have been here for twenty-six years now and my dearest wish for many months is to get out of the place! Some of the staff naturally enough of course are taking it rather badly – Mollie Baxter, for instance, who has been secretary to the office for twenty-five years; Jo Crean who has been a most devoted and efficient member for many years …’.
