A copy of ‘The Irish Packet’, Vol. III, No. 78 (25 March 1905). ‘The Irish Packet’ was a weekly magazine published by the ‘Freeman’s Journal’ newspaper from their offices in Dublin. It commenced publication in October 1903 with the final edition appearing in early 1910. ‘The ‘Irish Packet’s’ sole editor during its run was Matthias McDonnell Bodkin (1849-1933), a nationalist politician, journalist, lawyer, and later a county court judge. A notable feature of the periodical was the publication of work by Irish women writers including Alice Furlong, Eleanor Knott, Katharine Tynan, Rosa Mulholland, and Alice Milligan.

The item is in very poor condition with extensive tearing and fold marks. The first page is detached and extremely brittle. Very careful handling is required.
