Note
The Mercy Convent occupies an easterly-facing situation, in a central location within the town of Ardee. The convent was designed by John Neville (c.1813-1889), County Surveyor for Louth from 1840 to 1886, in a Gothic Revival style and is built of granite and stone. The convent is a five-bay, two-storey house and was constructed in c.1855. The convent chapel was added in about 1870. The building was vacated by the Sisters of Mercy in December 2020.
