Scope and content
Letter to Patrick Pearse from Captain James O’Sullivan, Wexford Brigade, Irish Volunteers. The letter reads:
‘Your letter received to-day, & instructions therein noted.
Am staying the remainder of this week with the Wexford Batt. & shall move on to Ross, on Monday next, letters c/o Philip Lennon, John St[reet] Ross, will find me.
Shall stay but one week in Ross, & one week in Enniscorthy.
Have not come into contact with Comdt. O’Connell yet. I discover, here, that he went to Dublin on Sunday.
Had a very successful meeting in Rathangan on Sunday last, & expect good results therefrom, in the neighbouring districts.
Arming with pikes is going on apace.
Yours faithfully,
Jas. Sullivan Capt.’
