A letter from Henry Lawrence Tivy, the proprietor of ‘The Cork Constitution’ newspaper. The letter is incomplete and is lacking information on the correspondent. The letter refers to the inability of ‘The Cork Constitution’ to carry Irish language content. The letter reads: ‘I fear that scarcely one out of five thousand would understand it nor would the printing of it assist in any way to bring about the more general use of Irish. On the contrary in these present days of quick, easily understood, news it would be a source of irritation to readers’.
