A copy of Monica Baldwin, ‘I leap over the wall / A return to the World after twenty-eight years in a Convent’ (London: Hamish Hamilton, 1950). A clipping of a review of the book taken from ‘The Tidings’ (27 January 1950) is pasted onto the inside front cover. Monica Baldwin (1893-1975) was a niece of former United Kingdom Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin. She lived as a nun for twenty-eight years before deciding to leave religious life.
