Scope and content
A notebook containing extensive Irish language transcriptions seemingly made by Eoin Ua Cathail. The final page of the text (in English) has entries relating to Ua Cathail’s interest in the American frontier and the subjugation of Native Americans. The final line reads ‘copied from the original by Eoin Ua Cathail, January 1916’. A manuscript note (in Irish) on the first page of the notebook suggests that this text was given to Fr. Senan Moynihan OFM Cap. by Joseph O’Connor of Fossa in County Kerry in 1946.
