A clipping of a photograph of Éamon de Valera addressing a large anti-Treaty rally on O’Connell Street (Sackville Street) in Dublin. The original caption refers to de Valera as the ‘former President of the Irish Republic’ and notes that there was a ‘vast crowd but little enthusiasm’. The clipping is taken from the ‘New York Times’ (5 March 1922). The image is credited to Times World Wide Photos.
