Portée et contenu
A postcard print of a missionary dentist (most likely a French Capuchin friar) performing a procedure. The postcard (no. 6) was part of a series published by the Catholic Mission of Somaliland. Somaliland was a British-controlled protectorate located on the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden. French Capuchin friars from Toulouse began ministering in Somalia in about 1892 and continued to labour there until they were expelled by the British colonial authorities for political reasons. Several British and Irish friars subsequently ministered in the territory.
