Scope and content
A clipping of a report on an appeal made by Daniel Mannix, Archbishop of Melbourne, urging Australians to welcome war victims and emigrants into country. Mannix suggests that Jewish people should be particularly welcomed and that ‘people should moderate their language in speaking of Jews, about whom they appear to be very jealous’. The clipping is taken from ‘The Tribune’ (20 February 1947).
