An ‘American Account’ tracking the finances of Fathers Thomas Dowling OFM Cap. and Berchmans Cantillon OFM Cap. during their mission from February 1923 to August 1924. Reference is made to how funds were raised in the United States and the costs associated with international missionary travel. The total funds managed during this period amounted to £1004. 13s. 7d. A significant portion (£168. 12s. 4d.) was spent on their ‘outward journey’ to the United States. Costs included passports (£2. 17s. 6d. each), and tickets (£32 each).
