Scope and content
A hand-drawn sketch map planning the layout of the Rochestown Friary community cemetery plot, drawn to a scale of ‘Representative fraction 1/96’. The plan illustrates the spatial organization of the graveyard, bordered by the ‘Church’ building at the bottom, a ‘Sacristy’ pathway or wall to the right, a gate entrance on the left, and a ‘Laurel Hedge’ at the top boundary. Individual grave locations are plotted into distinct blocks corresponding precisely with deceased community members interred between 1882 and 1914. One cluster tracks the graves of Br. Isidore, Br. Celestine, Br. Finbarr, and Fr. Eugene, while an adjacent row contains Br. Stephen, Br. Patrick, Br. Colman, and Br. Kieran. Near the church and sacristy lines, separate plots map the remains of Fr. Seraphim, Fr. Paschal, Br. Antony, and Fr. Bernard. A margin annotation notes a orientation detail: ‘Note Br. Antony’s grave faces the church’.
