A typescript annotation on the reverse of the print reads 'Soissons cathedral re-opened 15 years after German bombing / The Soissons historic cathedral, one of the finest gothic buildings in the world, which was bombed by the Germans in 1915 and seriously damaged, was solemnly reopened today by Cardinal [Charles] Binet and many bishops / The cathedral is partly restored / The procession leaving the cathedral'.
