Scope and content

Chronicle entry documenting the administrative appointments and formal religious milestones of the Capuchin Franciscan Order at Rochestown, County Cork, between 20 August and 17 September 1907. The upper portion of the page details executive decisions made during a Provincial Chapter held at St. Mary of Angels, Church Street, Dublin, assigning key roles at Rochestown to friars: Very Rev. Father Kevin, B.A., D.Ph. (elected Guardian); Very Rev. Father Jarlath (appointed 3rd Definitor, Vicar, and Master of Novices); Very Rev. Fr. Edwin, B.A., B.Ph. (appointed 1st Definitor and Rector of the College); Rev. Fr. Adrian (Vice Dean of the College); Rev. Fr. Bonaventure (Assistant Vice Dean and Professor of Drawing and Mathematics); and Fr. Chrysostom (Vice Master of Novices). The lower entry records a ceremony held on the Feast of the Sacred Stigmata and officiated by Father Jarlath, during which six cleric brothers (Br. Patrick, Br. Daniel, Br. Raphael, Br. Killian, Br. Ferdinand, and Br. Antony) made their Simple Profession at the friary.
