This series includes documents charting the geographic expansion, administrative governance, and personnel assignments of the Irish Capuchin friars in the United States.
The documents include references to the following key foundations:
Early Pacific Northwest (1910): Established initial missions and hospices in Bend and Hermiston, Oregon.
East Coast Presence (1910-1911): Assumed responsibility for Paradise Parish in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania.
California Takeover (1919-1920): Accepted Mendocino, Ukiah, Greenwood, and Fort Bragg missions from the English Capuchin Province.
Southern California Shift (1923-1924): The Irish friars expanded into Watts (Los Angeles) and the historic Santa Inés mission.
Delaware Relocation (1930): Established a foundation in Wilmington after exiting Pennsylvania.
