Scope and content
A copy of an official document drawn up by Bishop J.W. Shanahan of Harrisburg and a group of Polish Conventual Franciscan friars. The sender notes that this copy is intended to help the recipient understand the nature of the agreement before the bishop meets with the Capuchin superiors in Ireland. The document references Saint Stanislaus in the city of Shamokin, Pennsylvania. This was the first Polish parish established in Pennsylvania, founded by Bishop Shanahan. The original agreement with the Polish friars is dated 2 September 1901.
