Letter from Fr. Thomas Dowling OFM Cap. to Fr. Peter Bowe OFM Cap., Provincial Minster, reporting on his continuing preaching activities in Oregon. He writes ‘… I went out to the Indian missions and was much impressed by what I saw there. I preached to the Indians having of course to have my sermon interpreted for them by one of the tribe who understood English’. He also refers to arrangements in respect of financing the building of a church and residence in Hermiston.
