Scope and content

Letter from Fr. Joseph Fenelon OFM Cap. to Fr. Peter Bowe OFM Cap., Provincial Minister, offering an update on the administrative and social growth of the Capuchin mission in Los Angeles during this period. He notes that Fr. Pacificus is being brought in to assist with the three (soon to be four) Sunday Masses, which are ‘all very well attended’. Father Fenelon affirms that work continues on the interior of the school in Watts, which is expected to be completed by March. He notes that furnishing it will cost an additional $5,000 to $6,000, though a promised bequest for this has not yet been ‘actualized’. He also mentions Fr. Dominic O’Connor OFM Cap. who is unwell and suspected to have appendix trouble; as it is his jubilee year, Father Fenelon has offered him a holiday.
