              Letter from +O’Hara to +McQuaid thanking him for the information on the solemn consecration of Ireland to the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. He will forward this information to the Canadian Hierarchy. He states that Mgr. Moylan and himself went in the car of the Nuncio of Vienna to within 29 miles of the Iron Curtain but they did not approach any closer. He describes it as a strenuous trip.

              Letter from +McQuaid to +O’Hara regarding the Tostal Inauguration Mass. He says that the President, Taoiseach, Executive Council and Diplomatic Corps will be in attendance. The previous year he had been in America, en route to Australia, when the Mass took place and the attendance was scanty. He states he has already informed the President and Taoiseach that he will not be in attendance. He cannot advise the Nuncio whether he should or should not attend the Mass but agree that the tonsure coat and silk hat is the appropriate attire for the event in the Post Office.
