M. Fox: a constant correspondent for the Distributive Worker, the official organ of the Irish Distributive Workers & Clerks. He was born in Liverpool, was recently in China and an article on China is to be published in the Times Pictorial Sean Nolan: he reported to the President of the Irish Workers’ League. Committee to ascertain his importance in the Communist organisation R. T. (Buster) McShane: he is the Secretary of IAWLA. An article in Health & Strength says he is making arrangements for the Irish team and supporters at the World Games in Moscow, August, 1957.

No Executive meeting of IWL on 29 January 1957 to allow members to attend the 10th Anniversary commemoration of the death of Jim Larkin. Ceremony presided over by Brendan Corish, T.D., Minister for Social Welfare. R. M. Fox, author of ‘Jim Larkin, the Rise of the Underman’, spoke. At the IWL meeting on 4 February Sam Nolan spoke on the effect of recent international events on world Communism. Dublin unemployed discussed. Left-Wing Labour expected to meet regarding the line of action for the forthcoming election. Dublin Trades’ Council and the Council of Irish Unions to meet and arrange action for unemployed. Mass demonstration outside Employment Exchange planned for Sunday, 10 February.
Typed profile of R. Fox. Born in England and came to live in Ireland in 1926. Author of ‘Green Banners’ and ‘Crusade’. Was sub-editor of The Irish Press for some years. Contributed articles to numerous papers. “Responsible Labour leaders regard Fox as a dangerous Communist, devoid of any principles.”
