Scope and content

Letter from +McQuaid to +O’Hara regarding the Tostal Inauguration Mass. He says that the President, Taoiseach, Executive Council and Diplomatic Corps will be in attendance. The previous year he had been in America, en route to Australia, when the Mass took place and the attendance was scanty. He states he has already informed the President and Taoiseach that he will not be in attendance. He cannot advise the Nuncio whether he should or should not attend the Mass but agree that the tonsure coat and silk hat is the appropriate attire for the event in the Post Office.
