              Letter from Mgr. Cassidy to +McQuaid forwarding a reply from the Secretariat of State in relation to releasing Fr. Cyril White for service in the English language section of that Office. Taking into account his age and his ability, they request +McQuaid to allow him enrol in the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy with a view to him being appointed, eventually, to the diplomatic service. The matter has now been referred to Archbishop Paro, President of the Academy. His Holiness hopes the Archbishop will consent to this suggestion.

Abbot White granted permission for a hostel for his scholastics to attend Clonliffe College. They settle in Clontarf: but first batch of 3 seek dispensation from vows before commencing. A refocusing of the houses’ purpose ensures Canons Regular - Kilnacrott Abbey
