The series comprises a small collection of visitation reports on Third Order lay fraternities established by Irish Capuchin friars of St. Patrick’s Custody in the United States. The Third Order of St. Francis (now the Secular Franciscan Order) is an official Catholic religious order founded by St. Francis of Assisi. Its membership is made up chiefly of married and single Catholic laypeople.
