              Typed note to +McQuaid from James Ardle MacMahon. Fr. D. O’Sullivan C.S.Sp., and Fr. Thomas Lucey, St. Patrick’s, Kiltegan, advise that to refuse permission could lead to serious consequences for Missioners in Lagos, while to grant it would secure more advantages than disadvantages. Fr. Lucey was of the opinion that permission would best be given without comment.

The 27th Session of the European Conference of Ministers of Transport is being held in Dublin Castle. Delegates will complete their working sessions on the Wednesday, and on Thursday take an excursion by train to Killary. Thursday is the Feast of Corpus Christi. It may be difficult for some delegates to hear Mass and a dispensation is sought for them.
