St. Joseph's Retreat, Cloonamahon, Collooney: Copy letter from the Provincial, Fr. Gerald O'Boyle, C.P., to the Bishop of Achonry, Patrick Morrisroe. Fr. Austin has reported on his meeting with the bishop and the provincial thanks the bishop for granting permission for the establishment of a monastic foundatioin in the Diocese of Achonry for the education of Passionist students for the foreign missions on the property known as Cloonamahon in the parish of Collooney, with certain "little conditions". The Province is willingly prepared to renounce "questing" or collecting in the Diocese and to observe any restrictions the bishop may wish to impose regarding the hours of Sunday Mass, or even the closing of the chapel or oratory on certain specific festivals.
