He is a prominent member of the Knights of Malta and two of his daughters are members of the Holy Child nuns. He also quotes Cardinal McRory saying that ‘Roger is a very brave man. He had the courage….to lead his men to Mass every Sunday in Belfast, bands playing and banners flying. It takes a very brave man to do that in Balfost (sic)’.
