Letter from +Rodgers to +McQuaid. The letter concerns Mr Roche of Pearse St. who had complained during his stay in the abbey, Roscrea. He has written a number of letters and +Rodgers wishes to know what he is like. +McQuaid annotates that it is the consensus among the clergy who know him that he is an eccentric and that no attention should be paid to him.

Sean McGowan advised him to get Liam Skinner’s book. Fr. McAnliffe read Murphy’s work and said he would not publish any ‘red’ stuff. David McCelland, born in New Zealand, sold his publishing company and bought a farm in Roscrea. Is an atheist and in touch with Jaffares. Wife a practicing Catholic.

Letter from +Rodgers to +McQuaid. He declines the invitation to the reception and hopes that it won’t be a problem if he brings the Abbot of Roscrea along to the liturgical reception. He also mentions +Fogarty’s regret that he cannot make the journey.
