Requisitioned by J. C. & A. Blake, Solicitors (27 Marlborough Street, Cork), the document requests a formal ‘Hand Search’ in the Registry of Judgments Office in Ireland to identify any judgements, ‘Lis Pendens’ (pending litigation), or related decrees obtained against or suffered by Ellen Maria Harris Purcell during a five-year period commencing 1 May 1890. The lower portion of the sheet contains the certified return statement written and signed by James Ingoldsby, Law Searcher (4 & 5 Chancery Place, Dublin, per Wm. Miller), confirming that ‘No acts appear coming within the terms thereof’, establishing that the individual held clean financial title immediately prior to the estate transactions.
