              Letter from +O’Hara to +McQuaid from his new residence at 54 Parkside, London, SW 19. He thanks the Archbishop for being at the airport when he departed and for all his help during his time in Ireland. He states that an article appeared in ‘The Times’ that day entitled ‘Irish homes across the Sea’, dealing with the issue of Irish emigration to England. He will do everything in his power to keep the Irish emigrants close to the Church and will co-operate fully with Herbert Daly.

              Extract of handwritten letter to +McQuaid from Fr. Thomas Kehily, DICS. He had a visit from Jack Marrinan and Eamon Gunne, Garda Representative Body. They had appointed Garrett Fitzgerald as their consultant on the new pay claim, but Fitzgerald has been told by the Minister for Transport and Power that he cannot continue as Consultant to the Garda as it is inconsistent with his Chairmanship of E.S.B. Arbitration Board.
