They had appointed Garrett Fitzgerald as their consultant on the new pay claim, but Fitzgerald has been told by the Minister for Transport and Power that he cannot continue as Consultant to the Garda as it is inconsistent with his Chairmanship of E.S.B. Arbitration Board.
