Sec., Synagogue Chambers, Adelaide Road, requesting a meeting with a Jewish deputation concerning a very urgent and pressing matter affecting the close relationship between Jews and their fellow Christian citizens. Irish Association of Civil Liberty 3/ 26/1. 18 October 1950 Typed letter to +McQuaid from C. Gore-Grimes, Hon. Secretary, Irish Association of Civil Liberty. The Association was approached by the Jewish Representative Body which was disturbed by the anti- Semitic tone of a paper – Fiat - claiming to represent Catholic opinion. The Committee investigated the truth of the allegation and is satisfied that there is some basis in the allegation. The Committee consider that the matter be brought to +McQuaid’s attention. 3/ 26/2. 11 November 1950 Draft letter, in +McQuaid’s handwriting, acknowledging receipt of that from C. Gore-Grimes. The Jewish Representative Body is aware of the attitude of the Archbishop on unjust attacks upon the Jewish people.
