Boyle telling Sean Nolan the procedure followed by Intelligence regarding suspected Communists. Information sought on Letchford who is a leading Communist in Cork. Garda recruits would have a chaplain appointed if requested by the Authorities. A new book on psychiatry by Jonathan Hannigan was discussed. He runs a centre in Monkstown.

Handwritten report. Sean Nolan told B. O’Neill that his men voted for de Valera and PR (Proportional Representation). They did not organise disturbance at de Valera’s meeting, but some of his men did cause disturbance at the end of the meeting when provoked by Mr. McEntee. Sam Nolan had a letter in The Mail supporting PR. Mrs. Byrne is active in Fianna Fail. She is becoming a danger.

All to seek information on Andrew Barr and Irwin, both from Belfast and on the council of ICTU.

Suggested this could be done by an article in the newspapers facts should first be ascertained, maybe from Douglas Hyde. Letter in The Irish Times concerning the proposal of having US bases in Ireland. Fr. Tuohy to find out if de Courcey Ireland was leaving for Australia. Could Australian Authorities be warned?
