              Typed letter to Fr. Martin. She was picked to go forward as a candidate in the coming election but has no chance of being chosen at convention. She agreed in order to oppose Lionel Booth. Booths were associated with the Mrs Smiley Homes and the Bird’s Nest. “The bad drop is in him and we want no more Trinity College fellow travellers in the Dail.” Mrs Boothman is at war with IHA as they did not inform her of the international meeting.

              Handwritten letter to +McQuaid from + James Staunton, Ferns, making the following points: encloses two suggested clauses for the Adoption Bill; the Minister realizes that Irish children are being raised by money partly contributed by foreign bigots, in the Protestant religion, to continue the British policy of increasing the number or Protestants in the country, and to provide recruits for the British Army; the Children’s Act helps to proseltyse; Irish law allows anybody of any ‘ism’ to adopt a child if he states that he is doing it for ‘love and affection’; children in the Bird’s Nest are all Catholic.

Gerry Kerrigan has been successful within union in getting information prior to meetings. Una was able to secure a film on the working of Communists in a community shown to group of men in Finglas. The report of Seminar of African Women enclosed. Mrs. Tweedy very impressed with Fr. Fehily.
