              Letter from Fr. Cathal McCarthy to +McQuaid stating that Mgr. Benelli had phoned to say he was glad everything had been settled. He says the Nuncio will give an Indulgence of 200 days and asks if someone would read out the announcement. Mgr. Benelli also wishes to know where he and Mgr. Kirk should go in the procession and whether the Nuncio enters the Pr Cathedral directly from his car or from the presbytery?

              Press release from +McQuaid in relation to the candles presented by the Holy Father. One candle has been given to Rev. R. Harrington, Provincial of the Dominican Province which came to Dublin in 1226. Another has been given to the Mother Abbess of the Poor Clare’s, Harold’s Cross whose convents dates from 1712. The last has been given to Rev. Cathal McCarthy, President of Clonliffe College which celebrates its centenary.

              Handwritten letter to +McQuaid from Nicholas Barron. Was asked by the Women’s Societies and Social Workers to draft an act. Did so with the help of Drs. McCarthy and Lucey, St. Patrick’s College, Maynooth, and brother members of the Irish Bar. Anxious to know if the Bishops consider an Adoption Act as feasible, and if so whether his draft has the necessary precautions.
