Letter from James J. Ryan to Fr. Peter Bowe OFM Cap., Provincial Minister, detailing his meeting with Archbishop Ryan of Philadelphia to request permission for the Capuchin Order to reside and establish a house in the archdiocese. Ryan explained to the archbishop that he is willing to donate his property at Milmont, Delaware County, to the order free of charge, and assures him that the foundation will operate as an American institution, with any funds earned spent locally. The archbishop reacted warmly, laughed at the details of their arrangement, and promised to correspond directly with Father Peter after consulting his advisors.
