Letter from Fr. Stephen Murtagh OFM Cap. to Fr. Colman Griffin OFM Cap., Provincial Minister, explaining that his delay in writing was due to traveling to Oregon for the funeral of Bishop Fahey, the Co-adjutor Bishop of Baker. He reports that the Father General was disappointed by the lack of staff in Wilmington. A letter from the Guardian there describes the community as being in ‘dire financial straits’ due to the shortage of personnel. He also refers to the declining health of Fr. Benignus Brennan OFM Cap.
