A copy of Z.W. Pease, ‘The Catalpa expedition’ (New Bedford, Mass., G. S. Anthony, 1897). The book offers an account of the expedition in the bark ‘Catalpa’ to Australia, which set free the Irish political prisoners who were sentenced to a lifetime of servitude in the English penal colony. A manuscript annotation indicates that the book was formerly part of the library of Scoil Éanna in Rathfarnham in Dublin.
