File of loose newspaper clippings relating to the Capuchins in Cork and their ministries. The file includes:
• 'The Pioneer', Aug. 1956. The magazine contains an illustrated article on the Father Mathew Rally held in Mardyke in Cork on 24 June 1956. The rally was attended by many Capuchin friars from Holy Trinity Church and the keynote address was given by Fr. James O’Mahony OFM Cap.
• Photographic print of the exterior of Holy Trinity Church, Father Mathew Quay, Cork. It is noted that the Church is listed for preservation in the Cork Draft Plan. 'Evening Echo', 27 Nov. 1968.
• Article (with photographic) print regarding the conferring of Papal award on Bernard Curtis for his loyal and longstanding service as organist in Holy Trinity Church, Cork. The group includes Fr. Alexius Healy OFM Cap. and Fr. Colga O’Riordan OFM Cap. 'Cork Examiner', 24 Nov. 1972.

Newspaper clipping from the 'Evening Echo', 11 May 1966, commemorating the links between the Capuchin College at Rochestown in County Cork and republican leaders. Includes a large portrait photograph of Fr. Augustine Hayden OFM Cap., ‘one of the first five pupils with whom the college began in 1884 – [he] became rector in 1896 and held that position for almost fourteen years. He was fearless and inspiring in his priestly ministry to the fighting men in Dublin, Easter 1916’. Pasted onto black card.

With clippings re his involvement in ministering to the 1916 rebel leaders (including Seán Heuston), obituaries and tributes, and later the campaign to have his and Father Dominic’s O’Connor’s body repatriated to Ireland. • An article referring to remarks made by Rev. W.P. Burke in relation to the moral justification of wars. It reads ‘who can call the wretched Dublin business a war? It was backed neither by the mind nor strength of the country’. 'Nationality', 9 June 1917.

• ‘Sinn Feiners and the German Plot’. 25 May 1918.
• ‘Salute the Heroes / Back from the Gates of Death’. The article refers to the release of republican prisoners from Mountjoy Jail and to the roles played by Fr. Augustine Hayden OFM Cap. and Fr. Albert Bibby OFM Cap. The article reads ‘The association of these two much loved Irish Franciscan Friars with the last moments of some of the men who died after the Insurrection of 1916 was recalled by their presence yesterday. … Father Augustine appealed to the crowds whom his voice could reach to be calm. Some of the clippings also provide lists of subscribers and details of fund-raising efforts. Includes clippings from the 'Freeman’s Journal', 'Daily Nation', 'Daily Express', and 'Evening Telegraph'. Some of the annotated clippings were loosely inserted into a hard-covered volume (21 cm x 14 cm) which was ink-stamped on the inside cover ‘Catholic Boys’ Brigade, Church Street, Dublin’.
