Copy minutes of the meetings of the Father Mathew Sodality, Queen Street (later Father Mathew Street), Cork. The minutes mainly refer to routine administration and membership matters pertaining to the sodality and Father Mathew Hall. The minutes are signed by the Presidents of the Hall including Fr. Matthew O’Connor OSFC and Fr. Joseph Fenlon OSFC. The location of the original minute book is unknown.

Colles and others to Fr. Matthew O’Connor OSFC and Fr. Fidelis Neary OSFC at an annual rent of £13 7s 8d. Consideration: £101,000. With draft copies, draft memorandum of agreement, draft conditions of sale and a blank memorial for registering the said deed in the Registry of Deeds.

Letter from James G. Robertson to Fr. James Edward Tommins, Capuchin Friary, Kilkenny, granting permission to remove a building which the Capuchins hold from the late Lady Harty. 29 May 1876; Memorandum of agreement (dated 19 May 1896) by James G. Robertson, Merton Cullenswood, County Dublin, to Fr. Jarlath Hynes, Superior, Capuchin Friary, Kilkenny, and Fr. Matthew O’Connor, for the yearly letting of a dwelling house on Walkin Street at present vacant but formerly in the occupation of Miss Moore at £16 per annum. With an identical agreement (bearing the same date) amended to indicate that Richard Samuel Owen Robinson and Rev. Andrew Craig Robinson, 5 Fisher Street, Kinsale, County Cork, are the lessors; Letting agreement (dated 4 Jan. 1900) for the said premises at £16 yearly; Letting agreement to Fr. Letter from Fr. Albert Bibby OFM Cap., St. Francis Hospital, Santa Barbara, California, to Fr. Matthew O’Connor OFM Cap., Church Street, Dublin, referring to his declining condition. He wrote ‘I’m so weak and in such a serious condition that I know not if I shall be alive to-morrow’. He declared that he has renewed his profession ‘surrounded by the Franciscan Sisters here and Fr. Dillon, a devoted Kerry friend’. Fr. Albert Bibby OFM Cap. died two days later on 14 Feb. 1925. With cover.

Letter from Nicholas Healy, solicitor, High Street, Kilkenny, to Fr. Matthew O’Connor OFM Cap., guardian, regarding a charitable legacy of £20 left by Julia Quirke, late of Rathclogh for masses for the repose of her soul and the souls of her deceased brother, sister, and parents at a stipend of 10s for each mass. With a letter from Michael Buggy & Co., solicitors, Parliament Street, re £50 left by Esther White, deceased, ‘for the benefit of the Poor people occupying the Alms House in Walkin Street …’.

Agreement for sale from William Adams, Queen Street, to Fr. Matthew (Thomas) O’Connor OSFC, Fr. Leonard (Michael) Brophy OSFC and Fr. Fidelis (Michael) Neary OSFC, Holy Trinity Church, Cork, for premises on Queen Street held under a lease dated 1 Jan. 1846 (CA/HT/2/1/1/9) and for a property known as No. 13 Queen Street held under a lease dated 1 Oct. 1887 for 99 years at the yearly rent of £20. The properties were purchased for £840 free from encumbrances. With searches, bills, instructions for counsel, letters from William Guest Lane, solicitor, and an assignment of said leases from Adams to the Capuchin friars dated 29 Mar. 1900.

Mortgage by Thomas William Joseph Barry, 8 Queen Street, Cork, to Mary Fitzgerald, Kinneagh House, Caherciveen, County Kerry, for £700 on premises and on several plots of land in the County and City of Cork. The said plots are outlined in an attached schedule and include a dwelling house and premises at no. 6 Queen Street, Cork, in the occupation of Kate Wideman. The file includes a reconveyance (6 May 1912) by Mary Fitzgerald to Rev. Thomas Matthew O’Connor OSFC of the aforementioned mortgage on the dwelling house at no. 6 Queen Street (now known as no. 8 Queen Street).
