Minute book and attendance record book of the Dublin Battalions of the Irish Volunteers. Includes attendance records from January 1916 to April 1916. A three-page minute record from 22 February 1916 to 15 April 1916 appears to be in the hand of Patrick Pearse. This record includes references to ‘street fighting’, ‘protection on march’, and later ‘mobilization’. An entry on 18 March 1916 refers to ‘problems set re outposts protection [at] D[ublin] Castle’. Includes numerous signatures of Irish Volunteers in attendance at various battalion meetings in the first four months of 1916. Signatures include those of Thomas MacDonagh, Seán Heuston, Frank Shouldice, Frank Daly, Richard McKee, Thomas Slater, Piaras Béaslaí, Oscar Traynor, Thomas Hunter, Éamon de Valera, The O’Reilly (Ua Rathghaille), W. T. Cosgrave and William Pearse. The volume is extant in green, hard bound covers, with a gilt title reading ‘1916’ on the front cover.

The file also includes typescript reviews of the 'Annual' in broadcasts by Radio Éireann in 1961-2. Specific topics and reviews include features on the 1916 Rising (the 1966 edition of the 'Annual'), the Gaelic Athletic Association, Francis Ledwidge, Archbishop Daniel Mannix, and various photographic features in the 'Annuals'. An article by Desmond Rushe in the 'Irish Independent' (6 Jan. 1977) expresses regret that the 'Annual' will cease publication.

A handbill outlining the objectives of Conradh na Gaeilge (Gaelic League). The primary aim of the League was the ‘preservation of Irish as the national language of Ireland, and the extension of its use as a spoken tongue’. A secondary objective was to encourage ‘the study and publication of existing Irish literature and the cultivation of a modern literature in Irish’.

Photographic prints relating to the Patrician Year celebrations in Ireland in 1961. Patrician Year was marked by twelve months of religious celebration in recognition of 1,500 years of devotion to St. Patrick. The prints were compiled for publication in 'The Capuchin Annual' (1962). The prints show many images of the visit by the Papal Legate Cardinal Gregorio Pietro Agagianian (1895-1971), greeting President Éamon de Valera and his wife, Seán Lemass and many members of the Irish Catholic hierarchy. The images are mainly press photographs.

Photographic prints compiled for an article by Jim Fahy titled ‘Patrick Sarsfield Gilmore’ published in 'The Capuchin Annual' (1974). One of the prints shows the unveiling by Brian Lenihan of a memorial plaque in Ballygar, County Galway, in 1969.
