Typed report by Mgr. Hurley on the Irish Czechoslovakian Society Public Meeting held on Sunday, 25th August. Mgr. Hurley was invited to speak at the meeting and did so as a Dublin priest. He expressed his displeasure at this attack on innocent people. Pope Pius XI spoke of the evils of Communism. His statement was received with restraint. The Chief Rabbi spoke of freedom of conscience and this too was not warmly received.
