              Letter from Fr. Matt Farrell, Congregation du Saint Esprit, Paris, regarding the correspondence from +de la Bruneliere which he states is very out of character. He believes the writer may be the Officialis of the Diocese, Fr. Verhoeven as he has had similar begging letters in the past. He then remarks on the situation on the island and an earlier appeal to the French bishops which was so poor it was described as the ‘silent church’.               Note saying that Mr. John of the Capitol Theatre wished a priest should see Hill No. 1 and passed by the Ecclesiastical Censor. Annotation by +McQuaid saying he regrets that the film was shown contrary to diocesan regulations. Suggests that a statement by letter be received from the Theatre. Patrick Farrell of the Theatre said that if the demand for the writing of a letter was a disciplinary action he would not submit to it.
