Correspondence relating to the need for providing a school for mentally retarded children in the Crumlin area. This could be attached to Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children as the Order of St. Vincent de Paul are experts on the problems of mentally handicapped children. Such a School (Day Centre) has already been set up: St. Michael’s House, Northbrook Road, Dublin. The Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Handicapped Children wish to have this Day Centre be recognized as a National School and seek State assistance to have a similar Day Centre established on the North side.
