              Handwritten report by ‘Grandmother’. Walter Schubert, an American, giving regular talks on the Bible. He is connected with the Seventh Day Adventists, Ranelagh. Lucy Kingston in charge of arrangements for World Adult Educationalists. Would be glad of check on uniforms in Larkhill and Coolock N.S. children without uniforms victimised, although it is not compulsory.

              Correspondence between J. Elliott, Deputy Secretary, Dublin Board of Assistance, and Fr. C. Mangan relating to the re-opening of St. Clare’s Infant Hospital as accommodation for the aged and infirm. It is hoped that religious services shall take place in a Day Room. The Archbishop would prefer that there should be an Oratory with reservation of the Blessed Sacrament.

Rovida to +McQuaid enclosing a copy of the volumes ‘Day of Peace’, which have been sent by the Holy Father in appreciation for the celebrations for the first World Day of Peace. The volumes cover the celebrations from many parts of the world. It is hoped that the World Day of Peace will become an annual event.

Rovida to +McQuaid enclosing an English translation of the message the Holy Father addressed to the pastors and the faithful for the Sixth World Day of Prayer for Vocations. This will be celebrated on 20 April. Cardinal Garrone asks that this message be publicized as widely as possible. Also includes copy reply letter stating that the message will be passed to Mr. O.G. These state ‘The text was corrected and the omissions made by His Eminence Cardinal Heenan who finds it too long and even unsuitable.
