Meetings of the Obstetric Specialist Group have been held to improve the status of specialist practice and teaching in Ireland. If the provision of the Health Act, 1953, are put into effect the position of obstetrics may be greatly altered.

Prof. John Cunningham and Surgeon O’Connell of St. Vincent’s met regarding the Health Scheme and St. Luke’s Cancer Hospital. Informed them he had not had time to study the Scheme. Suggests that + D’Alton form a Committee to meet the Minister for preliminary discussions. Must act rapidly.
