Copy of a typed letter to Fr. C.P. Crean from J.A. MacM. regarding Dermot Malone, Donnybrook. Dermot has received a lot of literature from his brother in England who may be a member of the Young Communist League. Dermot still goes to Mass but is affected in his attitude to religion.

Typed letter to Chris from Fr. Crean. Thinks Chris should keep D.C. (Dolores Clifford) “on the string” as she seems to be getting information from direct sources. Wonders if (Sergeant ) Boyle is also using her.

Typed letter to Chris from Fr. Crean. Thinks circular could be circulated with great profit. Many here think talk of Communism is far removed from us. Close link between our Communists and the Communist Party of England. Crean wonders if Marie Duce, Knights or CYMS could help with distribution. Country lads should be warned before they go to England.

Typed minutes of ‘V’ Committee meeting. The following items are mentioned in the report: Fr. Crean met Charles Brennan, Chairman, Radio Eireann Council, and suggested some talks would bare watching. Suitable Catholic laymen are available to give topical talks. Brennan was vague, and said that Mr. McManus is in charge. Members should systematically listen to talks to identify objectionable matter. Letter from Mrs Byrne was read, stating that Dr. Morris, Mount Merrion, had taken over from R. Hubbard. Inquiries to be made regarding rumours that the college was connected with abortion.

Copy of a typed letter to the Parish Priests of St. Agnes, Our Lady of Good Counsel, St. Bernadette’s, Our Lady of the Rosary, St. Joseph’s, Terenure, from + McQuaid. Fr.
