              Letter from +Cody to +McQuaid stating the Ursulines are now working the Diocese and they are very happy. The Sisters of St. Joseph have been warmly welcomed. He also states that 22 lay teachers have helped alleviate the crisis in education. He will be receiving 5000 Hungarian children in the near future and he hopes the teachers will be able to deal with this challenge.

              Letter from +Cody to +McQuaid stating two members of the St. Joseph Sisters will arrive in Ireland towards the end of April. He recounts his own memories of his recent trip. He invites the Archbishop to participate in the Diocesan Centennial. He mentions the recent trip to the States by Prime Minister Costello. He was unable to travel to Canada as his schedule was too full. He hopes he will visit at a later stage and believes it would have a great impact on Irish-Canadian relations. Annotated by +McQuaid.

              Letter from +Cody to +McQuaid introducing Fr. J.A. Feeney, Rector of St. Peter’s cathedral. He is in Ireland to find lay teachers for the Ontario Diocese. He is visiting with Inspector J.F. Kinlin who has been sent by the school boards. They are to meet with the Department of Education. He hopes he will be able to provide Fr. Feeney with some advice.
