Typed letter from Fr. Liam Carey to Fr. James Ardle McMahon informing him that Mr. Tony Brown, Mr. Jerome Connolly and Mr. Thomas Roseingrave have been contacted retarding the work that the Committee decided should be done. Mr. Roseingrave has been asked to speak to a paper by An Taoiseach, Mr. Lynch, titled ‘Are Social Principles Enough’.

Handwritten minutes of ‘V’ Committee meeting. The following items are mentioned in the report: the Committee was informed that contacting and organizing journalists was difficult as they “they prefer to remain independent of one another and of religious authority.” A report from a Miss Dixon seemed to question the spiritual and religious formation of the young boys and girls in the Fairy Hill Home, Terenure. Committee to look into it. Fr. Carey to discuss it with Fr. Lawless, CC and Msgr. O’Halloran with Fr. Taylor.
Handwritten minutes of ‘V’ Committee meeting. Fr. Carey reported that there are thirty-three children in the Fairy Hill Special Home, mainly boys aged 5/6 years old. Fr. Warren is satisfied with their spiritual care. Children remain in the Home from 6 months to two years. It was reported that Regina Publications, Cavendish Row, published and sold Papa Encyclicals and other Papal addresses. Their work was correct and in order.

Typed minutes of ‘V’ Committee meeting. Fr. Carey is going to America. It is recommended that Fr. Cyril North replace him on the Committee. Fr. Carey suggested that Fr. Crean be appointed Chairman as Msgr. O’Halloran recently died. Fr. North would need permission to read subversive literature if appointed. 1.3 Meetings, 1966 – 1969.
