Scope and content
A photographic album containing numerous prints primarily covering the work of Irish Capuchin missionaries in the United States. For the most part, the prints relate to churches and houses in Oregon and California. A few of the images relate to Irish Capuchin ministries in Abbottstown (Pennsylvania), Lincoln (Nebraska), and Wilmington (Delaware). Includes numerous images of churches, schools, and friars in Ukiah and Willits in Mendocino County in California, in Watts, Los Angeles, and at Mission Santa Inés, and in Burlingame near San Francisco. Most of the images are captioned with names, locations, and dates. A small number of the photographs relate to Irish Capuchin missionary activity in Africa in the early 1930s. Some images of the Capuchin friary in Rochestown in County Cork are also inserted into the volume. Images on facing pages are inverted in the album.
