Scope and content

Anonymous handwritten letter to + McQuaid, sent from Kaapstad, Cape Town, South Africa. Received on 11 March 1947. Congratulates the Archbishop for visiting James Larkin. Catholic workers are touched by this. Asks God to bless + McQuaid for multiplying parishes and churches. Pleads consideration for “praying the Mass”. The curate reads the Mass in English while it is being celebrated in Latin. People now follow it as never before. The young generation realize the “truth and beauty” of the Mass liturgy.
